Dina Meyer was born and raised in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, but moved to Dix Hills, Long Island in the last term of junior high. Her siblings include one of whom is older, named Gregory and a younger one called Evan. When she was nine till 16, she started working in the entertainment business through modelling. Ron Stetson taught her the Sanford Meisner acting technique at The Neighborhood Playhouse. Sandra Bullock received similar training as did Michael Douglas and Jeff Goldblum. Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton are also amongst those actors who've received this type of training. Her first role was in Beverly Hills 90210 which forced her to make the move from Beverly Hills to Los Angeles. The role was as the main character in Johnny Mnemonic in which she did almost every stunt by herself. She also established herself as a skilled actor. Her agent for talent also represented Matt LeBlanc so, through her agent she was able to get a regular role on Friends.
